June is Adopt-A-Cat Month
How lucky is Winnie’s Wish to get TWO bonded pairs adopted! Truly and Shiloh were adopted together and now Glitter and Cashmere have been adopted together. As mentioned yesterday, there are two more bonded pairs here who need wonderful forever homes. In all of my bonded pairs, there is one kitty who is more extroverted and one who is more introverted. I knew when Melissa adopted Truly and Shiloh that she would have a friendly kitty pretty quickly in Truly, and that it would take Shiloh longer to come around. I knew when Andrea adopted Glitter and Cashmere that she would have a friendly kitty right away in Glitter, but that Cashmere would be slower to warm up. The two pairs I want to highlight today are no different except that BOTH kitties in each of these pairs might take a little longer to come around. But I will not stop hoping that there is a wonderful person out there somewhere who will give the time and patience to one of these pairs. The end result will be that this person will have a couple of friends for life – and think of the satisfaction that will come from offering a forever home to a couple of kitties who might otherwise never have the opportunity.
Peter Pan and Tinkerbell started life in a feral colony. It took me a long time to get them to completely trust me. Now they are ready for a patient home. They are two sweet, sweet, sweet kitties! Tinkerbell begs me for attention when I’m in the cathouse, and Peter Pan wants to play. Tinkerbell certainly has the right name – she is a smaller than average kitty. Peter Pan has a certain super-cute look on his face all the time. Winnie’s Wish is looking for the perfect patient loving home for this bonded pair.
Toast and Slate are two brothers from a feral litter of four kittens. There were three boys – Toast, Slate, and Smokey, and one girl – Snowflake. Oddly, Snowflake is still completely feral. She is the only cat in the cathouse at this time whom I cannot touch. (Never fear. I’ve had cats before that I couldn’t touch for long times, but they eventually do come around.) The boys, however, have all tamed quite nicely. Smokey has never been attached to his siblings. He gets along with all of the cats and shows no preference for his brothers or sister. Toast and Slate, on the other hand, are nearly always seen together. Toast is the outgoing one; Slate more introverted. Both come to me to be petted. As with so many other bonded pairs, there is one who would probably do fine without the other. Toast could make it without Slate, but I feel that Slate really needs his brother Toast. Slate is a beautiful gray tabby and Toast is an unusual brown tabby. They are gorgeous boys.
With the adoptions of Truly & Shiloh and Glitter & Cashmere, I am only two away from being back to my ceiling number. So just think . . . if I get ONE more pair of kitties adopted, I’ll be back to where I need to be. And if I get one more after that, I’ll have a legitimate opening for another kitty who needs help. Please spread the word, Friends. Pass this post around if you will. I sure would like to keep this little adoption phase going. Have a great weekend.
Much Love,
Mama Mindy :)
