Jack Flash's 6th birthday!!

Hi all our good blogging f(u)riends!

Mama Mindy here.  Today we are celebrating Jack Flash's 6th birthday.  Jack was first a kitten of the streets rescued by people and given to my sister.  My sister at the time had a cat named Lydia and thought that Jack would make a good sibling.  Lydia disappeared around Halloween time and was not seen again...yes, she was a black cat...let's just not go there..at least not today.  Jack continued to live with my sister through another move and then he decided to bolt out of her apartment in a less-than-desirable neighborhood. I don't think my sister was thinking about his well-being and when my dad finally got her to ask other mail carriers in the area to look out for Jack and he was spotted, my dad swooped in and brought Jack home to live with us.

Jack is the reason Luna is here...because I was begging for her to come home to our house as we only had Socks Lucyfur at the time.  Mom wasn't opposed, but Dad was...and then he opened the floodgates when he brought Jack home...because he was opposed to bringing anymore pets in the house...and he broke his own mandate.  Luna is the reason Golden and Percy are now Slimmer cats.  In fact, Luna thinks she is a pug and Percy and Golden love their bubba Jack.

Moral of the story:  Cats are like potato chips in a household that has enough love, space, and time for their care.  What's one more??

Winnie's Wish is a private animal rescue headed by Ms. Chrystal Parker who rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes wonderful cats.  She lives in Southern Illinois and is a great blogging friend/mother influence of mine.  I cannot think of a more deserving rescue than Winnie's Wish as the founder, Ms. Chrystal, actually runs a boarding kennel in order to help pay for the expenses of her rescue work.  How many other places can say that?  She puts her heart, her soul, her sweat, her tears, and her money into this establishment.

What could she use help with?  ADOPTIONS!! and WISHLIST FULFILLMENTS!!

Please go to Ms.Chrystal's blog and see if there is a kitty that speaks to you or to someone you know that needs a furry partner for life and help set up a match made in Heaven.  Blog about one or two kitties this month if you can find it in your blogging time to do so...and Chrystal makes it so simple as she already has pictures and write ups about each of the kitties needing homes...just click on one of the kitties pictures in the sidebar.  Copy/Paste/Link Back to Chrystal...that simple, and YOU might be the next one to help a purrsib find a forever home.  :)  Please celebrate Jack's birthday by helping her fulfill a wish or grant the ultimate wish of a FOREVER HOME.

Now...if you do have a few dollar bills that you would like to go to a good cause, you can either donate to Chrystal or perhaps browse her wishlist for the rescue on Amazon.com.

Winnie's Wish is a wonderful place...it has two cat houses and a birthing/maternity suite for those cats that arrive pregnant to have stress-free environment to birth and nurture young kittens.  Miss Chrystal gets all of her cats and kittens vaccinated, dewormed, and spayed/neutered.

I am a HUGE advocate for this rescue because I have actually been to it.  It is a property that exists on the land that Chrystal and her husband own.  It is beautiful and if I were a cat, I would be happy to call it my temporary home.  Notice, I said temporary, as there is nothing like having your own human to love and cuddle up to at night or during times of sadness or gladness.  Animals just have the sense to know when us hu-peeps need them terribly.

I can think of no better way to celebrate Jack's 6th birthday than to send Chrystal two items off of her Amazon Wish-List for Winnie's Wish.

I recommend you follow Chrystal's blog especially if you like hearing about beloved animals, the daily runnings of a kennel and rescue, and about all the sweet kitties past, present, and future that will need love and attention.  Her blog is a great read. I promise!!

Personal Message to Jack from his purrsibs:

Jack,
Thank you for loving daddy so that he would allow the rest of us'uns to come and live with you.  The Slimmer Cat Pack is alive and well.  Love you bubba!!

Much Love,
Mama Mindy & The rest of the Slimmer Pugs and Purrsibs
