So far, so good. George's eye that had trouble is not turning any weird colors or leaking any weird items (two things we had to keep an eye on). He is being med-ed to the Max.
Dr. Stucky called from KSU and the lab culture confirmed the bacterial infection that caused the ulcer to be a Staph infection. The current eye drops that we were giving 10 times a day are being discontinued for another eye drop that we will pick up shortly at Wal-Mart.
George Pooh's appetite for regular food wasn't so hot, so Dr. Stucky recommended we go to a chicken and rice diet...low sodium, of course. George Pooh "wolfed" it down. He is now in better spirits and isn't whining as much.
Continue to bring on more of the power of the paw and if you practice prayer, then please add us to your prayers.
PS: I will not photograph George because he is light sensitive due to his eye. Also, it is not the prettiest of sights and I think my boy is too handsome to be photographed with his eye looking wonky. Just look up an eye ulcer for a dog...and look at the past post for the name of the surgery if you want a gory picture.
