Hi friends!
This week was reaching the peak of the semester mountain...its all down hill (in a good way) from this week on.
Elementary Music (2 hours). Learned about movement and form and how my instructor wants us to type out our lesson for MicroTeach 3, a music class lesson, and the use of an umbrella drawing to help with brainstorming for our final turn in...3 lesson plans that incorporate music but are not music classes.
Next week, no music class since it is Veterans day...then we start Microteach Presentations (hopefully done in one night?) and review for our final (which includes selecting three recorder songs and also turning in our 3, non-music lesson plans).
Homework: Lesson Plan for MicroTeach 3, practice recorder
Advanced Instructional Technology (3 hours). Learned about how to create dvd slideshows and how to use clicker systems (CRS). Another class that will not be meeting next week.
Homework: Finished right after class. So really....NONE.
Math for Elementary Ed & Middle School Teachers I (3 hours). Got an A on Exam 3. Now...we are in the home stretch for Math. This class was the last of doing three (too many) sections in one week. Classwork revolved around decimals: rounding decimals, scientific notation, multiplying and dividing decimals, estimating with decimals, repeating and nonterminating decimals, turning a decimal into a fraction, ordering decimals, and percents and simple and compound interests.
Homework left: Three sections of homework (text only), on-line homework, workbook activities, and common core standards completed as of Friday night.
Field & Lab Biology (3 hours). Science Fair and Exam 3 over animals, mosses, ferns, plants... The written exam was more difficult than anticipated, but the lab exam was easier than anticipated. I got 4th place in the Science Fair. :)

Elementary Art (2 hours). Read three chapters of the art textbook; teaching art with the performing arts; teaching art to students with special needs; teaching art to gifted students.

Homework left: Work on Philosophy of Art Education paper and PowerPoint.
I think this next week I will breathe a little more and take it easy...after all, I only have two classes meeting during Week #13.
Much Love,
Mama Mindy
