Mama Mindy's Week 11 of Classes: One more week of chaos...then maybe I'll be able to breathe! :)

Hi friends!

 This week's re-cap:

This semester I am taking 13 credit hours, which doesn't sound like a lot...but I am actually taking 5 courses.

All but Advanced Instructional Technology met in class this week.

Elementary Music (2 hours). Learned about harmony and played with percussion instruments and the glockenspiel, xylophone, and metallophone.  My favorite was the metallophone.

Homework:  Think upon what I shall do for my final Micro-Teach and the lessons I want to produce for my FINAL. And...more recorder practice.
Math for Elementary Ed & Middle School Teachers I (3 hours).Took Exam 3 and started learning about decimals. :)  I'm starting to get the material.  For me, I understand difficult and have trouble with simple math concepts.  Interesting...no?

Homework left: None...finished it the day it was given.

Field & Lab Biology (3 hours).  We dissected an owl pellet (regurgitation) and played angry birds (non-technology version) and identified birds and created our own birds.  So...birds, birds, and more birds.  Also, had one-on-one time with the instructor to make sure we understood the independent and dependent variables for our science fair project.  My science fair project is about gas in the digestive tract and how gas relieving medicine works.

Homework left: Start & Finish the Science Fair tri-fold poster board and finish the written document.  I did my experiment yesterday...so at least its done and data has been collected. :)

Elementary Art (2 hours).  Since we met in class, there was no reading or outside projects to do.  In class, we made bug terrariums with clay and baby food jars, water color English project, altered polyhedrons, and tessellations.  (I have taken pictures and shared below).  I had SO MUCH FUN!! I LOVE ART! or I <3 ART!!

Water Color English Project

Here is the written portion describing my water color painting:

"The foreground (i.e. positive space) is occupied by an inquisitive, flat-faced, friendly pug. Her smile reveals a self-satisfaction brought on by some mischief. My puggy-wuggy's tail is wiggly-waggly as she is happy to see me enter the home after a long-time apart.  Gracie Lynn's eyes were the largest, most hopeful and soulful characteristic about her sweet and caring nature."

I sometimes feel that Gracie Lynn is not gone...even though she is...I hope that isn't strange...and if it is, call me cuckoo!

Much Love,
Mama Mindy :)

I'm sure that Gracie Lynn is still with you. For a long time after our cat died I could feel him there.

Believe me, we know exactly how you feel about Gracie Lynn. We feel the same about Benny.

Your projects are very cool! You will need to make a slide show of them all.

Gracie Lynn is not gone. Open your heart and listen she is where she has always been connected to every fiber of your being. Find comfort in knowing love is eternal.
